Inc. Magazine Top 500 / A Non-Agency - The Power of One

Congratulations.....you have made the elite list of Inc. Magazine's Top 500 of the 5000 Fastest Growing Privately Owned Companies. Happiness, disbelief, gratitude and a rainbow of emotions have washed over me in 1 minute. Literally, I pinched myself and just stared out my apartment window. Aug. 12, 2020 is a special day that will never be forgotten. I could never have imagined that in just under 5 years ( d.b.a. A Non-Agency was formed)  I would achieve one of the biggest achievements an entrepreneur might hope for. Add to this achievement the fact that I have been a one woman show. I managed to survive and thrive to my own surprise during these crisis because I did what many thought would lead me nowhere extraordinary - operated a one woman agency the only way I knew how - as a creative consultancy. Well, perhaps not all people thought this. Ce...

Isn't Diversity the Foundation of Resilience?

As a female entrepreneur, I find the idea of using 'Diversity Hiring or Diversity Initiatives' as a marketing or publicity tool off-putting. In light of all the current social economic turmoil and major shifts in the status quo, a daily barrage of articles and campaigns seem to be popping up left and right. Watching the endless press releases, announcements, campaigns, social media posts and statements from multiple sources, I can’t help but cringe and question their timing and sincerity. Rather than serving as a platform to sell, diversity has served as the foundation of my resilience. Perhaps it stems from my childhood, growing up as a daughter of a military officer during a time w...

The Contingency Plan IS the Plan: Welcome to 2020 - The New Age of Experiential Marketing.

We can see the scramble and the way video and technology contingency plans are currently being used for so many Brands that have had to cancel live and in-person experiential marketing events in light of the COVID-19 crisis. The irony of the race to deliver a physical-natured experience to a remote audience in today’s world is that the design process for space planning has ALWAYS required 3D designs and virtual tools. Designers who work in fabrication, set design and other physical elements are all familiar with the challenges of creating models that must be built to scale in reality and know well how virtual tools have played a role in the design process before delivering the final product to their clients. Take for example, during the design process while working on the Delta Airlines CES2020 experience, our firm, [a] Non Agency, decided to use Virtual Reality (VR) to both solve a business challenge and provide better decision making tools as part of the design and concep...
